We are looking for PPIE participants with experience of acute ischaemia in the arm or leg to advise upon the design of a new application for research funding into this condition. Acute limb ischaemia is the medical term for a sudden serious blockage in the artery of the arm or leg caused by a blood clot or aneurysm (or similar).
The vascular research team at Newcastle and Norwich University Hospitals are planning a research study that will compare the best treatments for acute limb ischaemia. The team would like to hear from patients and carers with lived experience of this condition to offer their insights and ensure that the research is designed in the best way possible .
If you would like to find out more about becoming a PPIE advisor for this study then please contact the coordinator by clicking the button below.
The Vascular Voice Network is a newly established organisation with a mission to enhance connections between rare and common vascular condition charities, clinical vascular specialists, researchers, and patients.
During 2026 we will be creating a new website to offer information and easy to use signposting to services and organisations that offer patient and carer support for a variety of vascular conditions. We are committed to ensuring that the patient voice is fully involved in the creation of our new website. We want the website to be user-friendly and offer the information that patients need to access.
If you would like to be involved as a PPI advisor for the Vascular Voice Network then please contact the PPIE coordinator by clicking the button below. Please mention the Vascular Voice Network within the body of your message. We look forward to hearing from you!
The MOSAIC2 Study team are asking individuals with Intermittent Claudication (IC) to oversee and advise upon a 5 year multi-phase study. MOSAIC2 is an NIHR funded study taking place across the UK. It is researching the development and evaluation of a supported home-based walking programme for people with Intermittent Claudication.
The first stage of the research will adapt an existing successful programme, called MOSAIC2, so it can be delivered in GP practices and community trusts. It will then go onto evaluate whether it works and can be implemented into routine NHS care.
PPI advisors with the condition are needed to ensure that the way the research is being developed and run is acceptable and enables everyone who wants to participate in the research can do so. If you have Intermittent Claudication and would like to find out more about becoming a PPI advisor, then please contact the PPIE coordinator by clicking the button below:

The PPIE Registry Participant Advisory Group meet every three to four months in a voluntary capacity to oversee the promotion and functioning of the Registry, and to offer feedback and advice to the PPIE coordinator from a participant perspective.
The meetings are held online via Microsoft Teams. If you are interested in becoming a Registry advisor then please click the button below to contact the PPIE coordinator.
